How I Work

Planning a funeral for a loved one is one of the hardest things we ever have to face in our lifetime – and that’s where I can help you.  I hope to be able to make this as easy and comfortable as I possibly can for you and your family.

I realise that it can feel overwhelming as there is so much to organise when someone has died, with so many decisions to make. My role is to help you on that journey, to make it less daunting. My aim is that, together, we can enable you to have the very best service for your loved one.

Initially, I will meet with you so that we can get to know each other. I will also spend time hearing all about your loved one, their life story, their hobbies, likes, dislikes and all the things that made them special, and through that I will write and plan a service that is unique to them. This also will be when we discuss the different options for the funeral service to ensure that all your wishes, (or their wishes), are fulfilled.

We will discuss any music that you would like to incorporate into the service, as well as individual tributes, readings or anything else that would be special and appropriate to be included. If you need help in selecting suitable readings or poems, I will be happy to help you with this too.

We will liaise throughout the time leading up to the funeral service and on the day, I will be a friendly face to guide you through each step of the way.

“On September 30th 2015, I was lucky enough to witness Dawn performing the role of Funeral Celebrant at my aunt’s funeral. I was surprised to learn afterwards it was the first funeral Dawn had conducted as she was very assured. She brought a calmness and sensitive empathy to proceedings whilst smoothly taking us through the celebratory, yet equally sad funeral service in a personal manner .“
